Dehradun: UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code has been implemented in Uttarakhand. Due to which it has become the first state in the country to implement UCC. PM Modi himself has mentioned UCC many times. This time also, while referring to UCC during a rally in Haryana, he said that the double engine government has implemented the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand with a bang.

In fact, in a program organized on the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the Uniform Civil Code. Especially praised the UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code implemented in Uttarakhand. He said in his address that ‘The spirit of the Constitution is that there should be a uniform civil code for everyone, which I call Secular Civil Code, but Congress never implemented it. After the BJP government came to power in Uttarakhand, the Secular Civil Code i.e. Uniform Civil Code was implemented with a bang.’

UCC has been implemented in Uttarakhand from 27 January 2025

It is worth noting that UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code has come into effect in Uttarakhand from 27 January 2025. Under which registration has been made mandatory for marriage or live-in relationship etc. Talking about UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code, its meaning is clear from the name itself. In which there is to be a similar system across the country for all religions, castes or sects. That is, all people will have to follow the same rules and laws. Which includes divorce, marriage, adoption of children, property division etc.

At the same time, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has shared a video related to PM Modi’s address on social media site X. After PM Modi’s mention of UCC, it is believed that now it can be implemented in the country. It is being considered as a signal.
