Dehradun: PM Modi will be on a tour of Uttarakhand in the month of January. During this time, PM Modi will inaugurate the proposed 38th National Games in Uttarakhand. Along with this, PM Modi will also give a big gift to Kumaon division. During his Uttarakhand tour, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the proposed Sports University in Haldwani and Girls Sports College in Lohaghat on January 28.
Sports Minister Rekha Arya held an important meeting with Chief Secretary Radha Raturi and officials of Youth Welfare and Sports Department regarding the 38th National Games at Dehradun Secretariat. Topics related to the organization of the National Games were discussed in the meeting. In the meeting, Rekha Arya gave clear instructions to the officials that all preparations related to the games should be completed within the stipulated time. No shortcomings should be left in these.
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of two institutions
According to the decision taken by the government in this meeting, on 28 January 2025, i.e. on the occasion of the inauguration of the National Games, the foundation stone of the proposed Sports University in Haldwani and the Girls Sports College to be built in Lohaghat is to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Therefore, in today’s meeting, Minister Rekha Arya has given strict instructions to Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary of Forest Department RK Sudhanshu and PWD officials to complete all the clearances within a week to resolve the complications arising regarding the land of the Sports University.
1 week ultimatum for forest land transfer
In the meeting, Minister Rekha Arya gave one week’s time for the process of land transfer for both the institutions. She said that the entire situation should be clear soon. Apart from this, instructions have been given to the Chief Secretary to provide funds for Girls Sports College Lohaghat as soon as possible.
Takula block of Someshwar will be connected by road
In the same meeting, Sports Minister Rekha Arya also directed the Chief Secretary and the concerned officials to connect the Takula block of her Someshwar assembly by road. She said that this block with 89 gram panchayats is situated in the middle of a dense forest. Due to lack of a solid road, the residents here have to face problems. With the efforts of Rekha Arya, a CC road has been constructed in this area. This is an alternative arrangement. Therefore, to connect this block by road, Minister Rekha Arya directed the Principal Secretary of the Forest Department, District Magistrate Almora, DFO Almora and PWD officials. She has asked to speed up the process of road within a week.
