Dehradun: A policy should be made by the Tourism Department in 04 weeks to develop wedding destination in Uttarakhand. The action being taken to arrange for night landing of aircraft at Pantnagar and Dehradun airports should be expedited. Rapid action should be taken to bring the action plan to develop two new cities on the ground. Work should be done in a phased manner for Ganga and Sharda Corridor Development and Knowledge City to be built in Dakpathar. Work on all projects should be started formally by June 2026. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave these instructions to the officials during the third meeting of Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) in the Secretariat on Wednesday. The Chief Minister said that work should be done on the model of development with heritage. The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the requirements of the state for the next 25 years, various development schemes should be planned and implemented in a systematic way. To fulfill the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop India by 2047, work should be done on short-term, near-term and long-term plans in the state. He said that work should be done in a planned manner for the development of areas related to all the projects under Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board. The projects should be taken forward by incorporating the suggestions of public representatives and stakeholders. He said that these projects will be reviewed regularly.
The Chief Minister asked to focus on the development of infrastructure facilities by selecting various places to give recognition to the state as a wedding destination. For this, he also stressed on taking cooperation from wedding planners and hotel groups and paying attention to its promotion. He directed to work under a clear action plan for the development of two new cities in the state and to develop all kinds of basic facilities. He said that UIDB. Under the projects of the UIDB, special attention should also be paid to the development of places important from the point of view of tourism and pilgrimage. Work should be done keeping in mind the mythological and spiritual importance of the Ganga and Sharda Corridor. He said that it should be ensured that the results of the objectives for which UIDB has been formed in the interest of the state should be visible on the ground soon.
