Preparation for promotion of more than 25 PCS officers in Uttarakhand, these 3 can become IAS

Dehradun: The way for promotion of PCS officers seems to be opening in Uttarakhand. Although PCS officers were looking for a way for promotion for a long time, the Personnel Department could not take any final decision for promotion at 8700 grade pay. In such a situation, it is expected that the pending promotion will be approved soon.

Brainstorming on due promotion of PCS officers

Due promotions of PCS officers are going to happen soon in the state. It is reported that the homework for this has also been completed by the Personnel Department. Actually, there is a preparation to promote PCS officers of 7600 grade pay in the state to 8700. Although this promotion was already to be done, but according to the information, the decision on it could not be taken due to the litigation in the court regarding seniority. Now the Personnel Department is putting an end to all the controversies and is looking for a new way for this. In this regard, the Personnel Department is considering giving promotion to the entire batch of 7600. Under this, more than 25 PCS officers can be promoted. For this, apart from the vacant posts on grade pay of 8700, promotions can also be given on ex-cadre posts. On the other hand, there are two PCS officers who have not been able to get NOC at present due to investigation. Therefore, a final decision on their promotion will not be taken.

Decision will be taken after code of conduct

However, at present the Personnel Department is churning over the files related to promotion, and the final seal will be given on it only after the code of conduct is lifted. It is being told that after Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan took charge of the Personnel Department, matters related to promotion have increased. Now PCS officers are also hopeful of finding a way for their pending promotions. For this, a round of meeting has also been held at the department level.

3 PCS officers can become IAS

On the other hand, the wait for senior PCS officers to get promoted from PCS to IAS may also end. At present two posts are vacant in promotion for this cadre. In such a situation, two PCS officers can soon get the benefit of joining IAS cadre. At present, on the basis of seniority, Narendra Kuriyal and Bansilal Rana may get a chance for promotion. However, for this also, names of three officers will be sent for three posts. Earlier, PCS officer Nidhi Yadav could not be promoted due to vigilance investigation. For which the Personnel Department has written a letter to UPSC twice to review the promotion. In this way, if UPSC thinks positively about this, then three PCS officers may get a chance to become IAS. However, this entire exercise can be finalized only after the Model Code of Conduct is lifted.
