Dehradun: Sports Minister Rekha Arya took live reports from ground zero from sports officials of all districts on Monday regarding preparations for the 38th National Games. All district sports officials were connected to this video conferencing while standing at the venue.
After this review meeting held at the Sports Secretariat located at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that venue managers have reached the venues in all the districts. All the venues are being handed over to the venue managers. She said that most of the venue handover work has been done. This work will be completed at the remaining places by the evening of January 22. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that the venue managers will give the final touch by beautifying the venues.
During the meeting, Sports Minister Rekha Arya also instructed all the implementing agencies that despite the completion of the work, their JE and AE will stay at the venue till the end of the games, so that work can be taken from them whenever needed. On this occasion, Special Sports Secretary Amit Sinha, Sports Director Prashant Arya, Deputy Director Shakti Singh and other officials and management teams were present.
During the meeting, it came to light that at some venues, equipment and material related to construction are still present inside the stadium. Sports Minister Rekha Arya told the officials of the drinking water corporation and other implementing agencies that if your work is completed, then immediately deep clean that place and vacate it. When the officials told the Sports Minister that this work will be done in a day or two, the minister told them to tell the time in hours, not days, by when will all this work be completed.
