Preparations for the 38th National Games : the General Secretary of the Olympic Association has issued instructions for player selection, selection trial report has to be submitted by January 2

Dehradun: The process of selection of players of Uttarakhand for the National Games has accelerated. The Uttarakhand Olympic Association has issued guidelines for the state sports associations regarding the selection process. Along with this, a deadline has also been fixed for the selection trial report. The state sports associations will have to submit the selection trial report by January 2, 2025. A letter has been sent to all the state sports associations by Dr. DK Singh, General Secretary of Uttarakhand Olympic Association. It has been said in this letter that it will also be necessary to provide video footage and photos along with the selection trial report. He said that special attention will be paid to transparency in the process of player selection and eligible players will be selected for the representation of the state in the National Games. He expected the state sports associations to take special care of the guidelines issued for the selection process. He has said that appropriate action will be taken in case the guidelines are not followed. Selection Process Guidelines

All selection trials must be conducted in a fair manner and every eligible athlete will be provided equal opportunities.

Athletes must be permanent residents of the state or must be residing or working in the state for which they are vying for the state team for at least six months prior to the opening ceremony on January 28, 2025. (As per guidelines issued by the Indian Olympic Association).

Each State Sports Association must ensure that a qualified coach or selector recognized for expertise in the respective sport is present during the trials to assess the best athletes from Uttarakhand.

To maintain transparency, all selection trials must be video recorded. Additionally, photographs of the trials must also be taken.
