Dehradun: The appointment process of permanent Director General of Police (DGP) has started once again in Uttarakhand. After removing the error pointed out, the state government has once again sent the proposal of names of eligible IPS officers to UPSC. The names of six IPS officers have been sent in the proposal to be sent again to UPSC.
The Uttarakhand government had sent names of seven IPS officers to UPSC for the appointment of permanent DGP in December 2023. After the retirement of Ashok Kumar (IPS: 1989: UD), there is no regular DGP in Uttarakhand for almost six months. ADG Intelligence Abhinav Kumar (IPS: 1996: UD) is looking after the work of DGP.
