Dehradun: Uttarakhand Forest Department may get 8 IFS officers soon. Actually, the promotion of the officers of the State Forest Service cadre in the state is pending for a long time, in such a situation, the Uttarakhand government is now going to clear the way for the promotion of these officers by completing all the formalities. For this, there is information about starting the exercise at the government level.

Apart from this, preparations are also underway to start correspondence with UPSC for this. In such a situation, it is believed that if everything goes well, then soon eight State Forest Service cadre officers in the state can be promoted to IFS. However, earlier also the process for promotion was started for this, then UPSC had raised objections about the services of the officers about one and a half months ago. In such a situation, the Uttarakhand government is going to respond to the objection of UPSC. After this, it is believed that all the obstacles regarding promotion will end. These eight waiting officers will be able to become IFS.

In Uttarakhand, there are two vacancies for promotion from State Forest Service to IFS cadre in 2020, 07 posts in the year 2021 and 13 posts in 2022. In this way, a total of 22 posts are vacant for IFS cadre from State Forest Service cadre, but out of these, only eight officers will be able to get promotion to IFS cadre. The reason for this is that to get promoted to IFS cadre, the officers of State Forest Service cadre should have 8 years of service in (ACF). For which only eight officers are currently able to fulfill this service condition. The eight officers who are going to get promotion as IFS in Uttarakhand include Anil Tamta, Karuna Nidhi Bharti, Umesh Chandra Tiwari, Naveen Chandra Pant, Prakash Chandra Arya, Rangnath Pandey, Devi Prasad Baluni and Dhruv Singh Martolia.
