Uttarkashi: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster-affected area Dharali on Friday. He inspected the search and rescue operations on the spot. And gave necessary instructions to senior officials. The Chief Minister met the affected families and shared their grief and assured them of all possible help. The Chief Minister said that the government is carrying out restoration work at a fast pace. Electricity, water and internet connectivity have been restored. Apart from this, efforts are also on to repair damaged roads at many places. The Chief Minister said that more than 400 passengers have been rescued and sent to Uttarkashi and Dehradun via Heli and Chinook.
The Chief Minister directed the DM to assess the loss of assets and crops damaged in the disaster. During this, the villagers demanded the reconstruction of Dharali on the lines of Kedarnath Dham. The Chief Minister said that the government stands with the affected families in this hour of grief and the government will do the best for Dharali. During this, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, DGP Deepam Seth, IG Arun Mohan Joshi, DM Prashant Arya, SP Sarita Dobal, IAS Gaurav Kumar, IPS Amit Srivastava, Aparna Yaduvanshi, regional MLA Suresh Chauhan, former MLA Vijaypal Sajwan, Garhwal coordinator Kishore Bhatt, Gangotri temple committee secretary Suresh Semwal along with other officers and public representatives were present.
