However, if he does not get an extension, then Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan can become the new Chief Secretary of the state on seniority. 1988 batch IAS officer Radha Raturi became the Chief Secretary on 31 January 2024, two months before her retirement. After the completion of her two-month tenure, the state government had given her a six-month extension.
If he does not get an extension, then Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan will replace him according to the seniority list, but after getting the extension, Bardhan is still away from the CS chair. However, the six-month extension given to Radha Raturi is ending on 30 September, but discussions have started to give her an extension again. From the ruling party to the secretariat, it is being said that she may get an extension.
CM has not yet revealed the cards
All eyes are on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the answer to the question who will be the next Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand. Since the Chief Minister has not revealed the cards yet, the mystery is getting deeper. According to official sources, there is no news of any correspondence regarding service extension even at the level of the Department of Personnel and Vigilance. The decision to extend the service is taken at the level of the Central Government on the request of the Chief Minister.

After the departure of Radha Raturi from the State Secretariat, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan will be at the top according to the seniority list. 1992 batch IAS officer Bardhan will retire in June 2027.
