Dehradun: The central government has given special preference to Uttarakhand in the budget this time. The central government has added an extra budget of about ₹ 2 lakh 52,000 crores for the railway budget in the budget this time. Rs 2.52 lakh crore has been allocated by the central government for the railway budget. If we talk about Uttarakhand, this time Uttarakhand has also been allocated a good amount of budget in the railway budget. In the coming days, other works being done by the railway department in Uttarakhand will also start.
Uttarakhand got this much budget for 2025-2026
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had a virtual conversation with some journalists from Dehradun from Delhi. In this conversation, the Railway Minister told that the central government has allocated Rs 2 lakh 52 thousand crore in the railway budget this time. Rs 4641 crore has been allocated for Uttarakhand alone. This money is much more than states like Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
11 railway stations of Uttarakhand will be transformed
Ashwini Vaishnav told that in the coming days, many such works are being done by the Railways in Uttarakhand which will be visible on the ground. He told that about 11 railway stations in the state are being beautified under Amrit Station. These include Dehradun’s Harrawala railway station and many stations in Kumaon.
What else did Uttarakhand get?
This budget has been released for new works, while the works going on in Rishikesh, Karnaprayag and other places have already been sanctioned. The Railway Minister said that soon the Vande Bharat sleeper train is going to be put on the tracks in many parts of India. This train will also break China’s record. This train will run at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour.

- Between 2009-14, a total budget of ₹ 187 crore was allocated to the state. This time it has received 25 times more.
- 11 railway stations of Uttarakhand are being developed as Amrit stations
- 49 percent of the work of the 125 km Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project has been completed. The cost of the project is ₹ 24,659 crore.
- 96 percent work of Deoband-Roorkee rail line has been completed. This project is being built at a cost of ₹1,053 crores and is 27.5 km long
- 63 km long Kichha-Khatima rail line will be built. It is being built at a cost of ₹228 crores.
Railway Minister Vaishnav, while giving information about the Central Government’s highly ambitious Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project for Chardham, said that 49 percent work of this 125 km project has been completed. Whose total cost is ₹24 thousand 659 crores. He said that this project is a highly ambitious project of the government. In the press conference, he informed that 96 percent work of Deoband-Roorkee rail line in the state has been completed. Its total cost is ₹1,053 crores and this rail line is 27.5 km long. It was also informed that the 63 km long Kichha-Khatima rail line project will be built at a cost of ₹ 228 crore.
These rail projects are going on in Uttarakhand
69 km of new rail tracks have been laid in Uttarakhand from 2014 to 2025. Also, 303 km of rail lines have been electrified in the same period. Between 2009-14, this figure was 0. Today every railway line in the state is electrified. At present, work is going on in the state on 03 rail projects (railway tracks) of 216 km, the cost of which is ₹ 25,941 crore. Also, 11 stations including Dehradun, Haridwar Junction, Harrawala, Kashipur Junction, Kathgodam, Kichha, Kotdwar, Lalkuan Junction, Ramnagar, Roorkee and Tanakpur are being developed as Amrit stations at a cost of 147 crores.
