Rain is frightening in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami took stock of the situation, monitoring is being done from the Emergency Operations Center

Uttarkashi: Monsoon showers have already started wreaking havoc in Uttarakhand. While cloudburst occurred in Uttarkashi, rivers and streams are in spate at other places. Roads have been closed at many places. At the same time, after the warning of heavy rains from the Meteorological Department, instructions have been issued to the district administration to remain alert. In this episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Emergency Operations Center and took stock of the situation across the state. During this, the relief and rescue work was also reviewed after the cloudburst in Uttarkashi.

Chardham Yatra postponed: Since the entry of monsoon in Uttarakhand, rain has been continuing at many places. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for the next 48 hours. In which heavy to very heavy rains are expected at many places. In view of such a situation, it has also been decided to postpone the Chardham Yatra for the time being.

CM Dhami reached State Emergency Operations Center: At the same time, amid the conditions of heavy rain alert, CM Pushkar Dhami reached the Emergency Operations Center, where he inquired about the current situation across the state and also learned about the preparations. During this, CM Dhami inquired from the officials about the conditions after the cloudburst in Uttarkashi.

He clearly issued guidelines and instructed to remain on alert in view of the heavy rains in various districts. During this, relief and rescue operations were also reviewed in Uttarkashi. Due to continuous rain in the state, the road route has also been disrupted at many places. In such a situation, instructions were issued to open these routes as soon as possible.

Yamunotri route closed due to landslide: Due to landslide on Yamunotri route, this route is currently blocked, on which efforts are being made to open the way through 5 JCBs. Similarly, due to landslides, the road was blocked in some areas of Gangotri National Highway. However, this route was later opened for traffic. Passengers in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham have been stopped at some places due to the blockage of the road and arrangements are also being made for the worship and stay of these people here.

In Uttarkashi district itself, 7 rural motor roads have also been closed due to landslides, the work of opening which is in progress. During the meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the officials that in view of the alert of the Meteorological Department, all the tourists present in the state should be kept in safe places. Apart from this, efforts should be made to open the route as soon as possible in case of landslide. So that people do not have to face trouble.
