Jaipur: The Rajasthan government on Sunday (August 24, 2025) carried out a minor reshuffle in the state police, transferring four IPS officers and issuing first-time postings to six trainee officers. The changes include notable shifts within the Jaipur and Jodhpur Commissionerates, and appointments in Alwar district.
Key Changes in Jaipur Commissionerate
Two key appointments have been made within the Jaipur Commissionerate–
Hemant Kalal, who previously served in the Jodhpur Police, has now been posted as Additional DCP (East) in Jaipur Commissionerate.
Usha Yadav, who was earlier the ASP in Pali, has been transferred and posted as ACP (Chomu), Jaipur Commissionerate.
Transfers to Alwar and Jodhpur
Other significant postings include-
IPS Kamble Sharan Gopinath, previously stationed in Sanchore (Jalore), has been transferred as Additional SP, Alwar City.
IPS Roshan Meena, who served as ASP in Neemkathana (Sikar), has been appointed Additional DCP (West) in the Jodhpur Commissionerate.
First Postings for Six Trainee IPS Officers
Six trainee IPS officers from the latest batch have received their first field postings-

- Ashima Vasvani
- Patil Abhijeet Tulsiram
- Jatin Jain
- Madhav Upadhyay
- Prateek Singh
Their respective postings are yet to be disclosed in the public domain but mark the beginning of their field careers in the Rajasthan cadre.
Past Controversies Involving Hemant Kalal
Hemant Kalal’s name has previously surfaced in controversies. During his tenure in Jodhpur, he reportedly attempted a surprise inspection of the Central Jail, which was obstructed by jail authorities citing procedural issues due to the absence of the Jail Superintendent. Kalal escalated the issue to senior police officials.
Additionally, around five months ago, a petition was filed in the Rajasthan High Court accusing Kalal of alleged misuse of power. The matter remains under judicial consideration.
Background and Context
These postings come as part of routine administrative decisions, aiming to align personnel with field requirements and maintain law and order efficiency across Rajasthan. The inclusion of trainee officers marks the beginning of a new cycle in police leadership.
