Review meeting of Executive Committee (Ex C) of Uttarakhand Industrial Investment and Development Board (UIIDB) chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan

Dehradun: In the meeting, UIIDB constituted under Uttarakhand Planning Department presented various projects related to the overall development of Haridwar city and the requirement of Haridwar Kumbh Mela in 2027 under Haridwar Ganga Corridor Project.

In the presentation, extensive discussions were held on Haridwar city’s smooth mobility plan, beautification, sanitation, solid waste management, pilgrim friendly access development, transport, security, development of public facilities, crowd management, cultural hub development, parking, Sati Kund development, geometric improvement of 10 junctions, multi-model tourism activity, CCTV cameras and public addressing system, pilgrim friendly facilities, development works related to Chandi Devi, Mansa Devi, Maya Devi and Vilkeshwar temple in view of the upcoming Kumbh Mela in 2027.

Make a pedestrian way circuit plan of the main landmarks (religious centers) of Haridwar

The Chief Secretary directed the concerned officials to make a pedestrian way circuit plan of the main religious centers of Haridwar like Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi, Maya Devi, Daksh Temple, Har Ki Pauri, Bharat Mata Temple, Dakshineshwar Kali etc.

He said that the walking path of pilgrims should be such that they do not have to stop anywhere for even a short time (there should not be any obstruction) and such a pedestrian route should be one way in which all alternative security arrangements are also made.

He directed the Mela Adhikari, local administration, Municipal Corporation, concerned consultant agency and concerned stakeholders to prepare a proposal for this within 15 days in mutual coordination.

Instructions to make a systematic entry-exit plan at the Aarti point in Har Ki Pauri

The Chief Secretary directed the Mela Officer, Police Department, local administration, and concerned officials that the Aarti point of Har Ki Pauri is the most crowded place and crowd management is also the biggest challenge here. Keeping this in mind, make a proper plan for systematic entry and exit so that devotees do not face any inconvenience.

Rajaji Park administration will be the implementing agency for development in areas adjacent to forest in Haridwar

The Chief Secretary directed that Rajaji Park administration should be made the implementing agency for the implementation of such works related to development of various religious centers, public facilities and other development works which are near the area of ​​Rajaji Park administration or are partially related to their area so that the development related works can be completed quickly.

Give high priority to solid waste management, sanitation, parking, crowd management and security management

The Chief Secretary directed that the works which are of more important nature and need to be completed quickly should be given high priority.

He directed to give high priority to the works of solid waste management, sanitation, parking, crowd management, emergency measures of security etc. Where necessary, carry out the work by taking the concerned local body, trust, Ganga Sabha, local representative etc. stakeholders into confidence. The Chief Secretary directed that while carrying out various works, keep in mind that where the involvement of local body, representative or local trust etc. is necessary, ensure to work in coordination with them. He directed all the concerned officers and stakeholders to jointly visit the entire city regarding the development of Haridwar and asked to make a proposal to include some more provisions in the development plan wherever required. During this meeting, Principal Secretary LL Fanai and R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Nitesh Kumar Jha, Dilip Jawalkar and Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Special Secretary Ajay Mishra, Kumbh Mela Officer Haridwar Mrs. Sonika and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
