Salt MLA Mahesh Singh Jina met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and presented him with traditional mountain products from Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Salt MLA Mahesh Singh Jina paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today at the Chief Minister’s residence. During the meeting, Jina presented the Chief Minister with traditional mountain products symbolizing Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, primarily local mountain vegetables, organic agricultural products, and natural mountain-produced food items.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised Jina’s initiative, stating that mountain products not only strengthen Uttarakhand’s cultural identity but also play a vital role in the economic progress of farmers, women self-help groups, and local producers living in rural areas of the state. He stated that the use and promotion of local products gives a new impetus to the mountain economy.

The Chief Minister said, “Local, traditional, and organic products from Uttarakhand should be prioritized as courtesy gifts. This not only gives our traditional products a new identity, but also directly encourages local production and marketing. Women self-help groups, local artisans, and farmers receive direct economic benefits.”

He also appealed to all public representatives, senior officials, institutions, and various socio-religious organizations to respectfully incorporate Uttarakhand’s traditional products—such as mountain pulses, mandua-jhangora, organic spices, herbal products, handicrafts, handloom textiles, and other local materials—in their programs and formal meetings. This will further strengthen the “local to global” commitment and pave the way for local products to reach national and international markets.
