Dehradun: Secretary Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department Dr BVRC Purushottam met Chief Secretary Radha Raturi in the Secretariat. Secretary Dr BVRC Purushottam informed Chief Secretary Radha Raturi about the award of the best state received by Uttarakhand recently in the Himalayan and North Eastern states in the field of fisheries.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi congratulated the Fisheries Department and fish farmers and said that the government is continuously making many efforts to increase the income of farmers and animal breeders. Its results are now visible. Uttarakhand produced about 70,000 metric tonnes of fish in 2,600 hectares last year.
