Senior IAS Officers Spotlight Backdoor Entries in Recent Controversy

Amid the controversy surrounding probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, recent discourse on social media has highlighted the widespread use of fraudulent certificates to secure IAS positions. This discourse has brought to light the pervasive denial of opportunities to deserving candidates, contrasting sharply with revelations of job procurement through fraudulent means in recent years.

1991 batch IAS officer Ashok Khema has offered another perspective on this debate. He calls for an investigation into backdoor appointments made to IAS/IPS positions, which bypass public competitive examinations altogether.

He wrote on social media platform ‘X’. he stated, “Public anger rightfully targets an IAS probationer exploiting OBC-NCL and PwBD categories. This anger will ensure legal consequences. But what about illegal backdoor appointments to IAS/IPS roles, completely sidestepping competitive exams?”
