The Union government has repatriated Mr. Piyush Purusottamdas Patel, a 1988-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre, currently serving as Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), to his parent cadre in Gujarat.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order on November 25, 2024, approving Mr. Patel’s repatriation at the request of the Gujarat state government. The move has been implemented with immediate effect.
