New Delhi: Seven officer trainees from the 2022 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) have been assigned as Assistant Secretaries in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. This assignment follows the completion of their district training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie.
These officer trainees will be working across various central ministries and departments, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in governance and policy implementation. The tenure of their assignments will be from May 20, 2024, to July 12, 2024, spanning eight weeks.
The designated Officer Trainees are:
Aashima Goyal IAS (Uttarakhand 2022) who holds an M.Tech degree and was initially recruited in the Kerala cadre before being transferred to the Uttarakhand cadre.
Ankur Das IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2022) who holds a B.Tech. in Bio-Technology and recently concluded his district training as Assistant Commissioner in Baksa, Assam.
Barot Hiren Jitendrabhai IAS (Gujarat 2022) who holds a B. Com degree and recently served as Supernumerary Assistant Collector in Surendranagar, Gujarat.
Mridul Shivhare IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2022) who holds a B.A. in Political Science and completed his district training as Assistant Commissioner in Dhubri, Assam.
Patil Abhijeet Rajendra IAS (Sikkim 2022) who holds a B.E. degree and recently worked as Assistant Collector in the Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Gangtok, Sikkim.
Pawar Omkar Madhukar IAS (Maharashtra 2022) who holds a B.E. degree and completed his district training as Supernumerary Assistant Collector in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra.
Samyak S Jain IAS (AGMUT 2022) – Samyak holds a B.A. degree and concluded his district training with the Government of Puducherry, Karaikal.
During their tenure, the officer trainees will actively participate in the day-to-day operations of their assigned duties. This period marks a significant phase in their careers, allowing them to engage directly with the administrative processes at the highest levels of the Indian bureaucracy.
