Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday participated in the program organized on the completion of 70 years of Guru Ram Rai Inter College located in Sahaspur, Dehradun. On this occasion, he honored many seniors and distributed bags to school children.
The role of the school was described as commendable
The Chief Minister congratulated everyone and said that this school, established just after independence, has awakened the spirit of education in the area. He praised the 35 years of service of the Principal of the school, Dr. Ravindra Kumar Saini, and said that the students taught by him are achieving success in various fields across the country.
The school became an example of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao
The Chief Minister specially appreciated the efforts of the school to connect the daughters of poor families with education. He said that this effort is bringing positive change in the society.
Appeal to students to make good use of time
The Chief Minister explained the importance of time to the students and said that it is invaluable and never comes back. He urged the children to work hard, realize their dreams and bring glory to the region and school.
The level of transparency in the examination increased due to anti-cheating law
The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented a strict anti-cheating law, due to which the copy mafia is in jail and not a single paper has been leaked in the last three years. He told that during this time more than 20,000 youth have got government jobs in a transparent manner.
The direction of life changes with education and culture
The Chief Minister said that only education and culture make a person eligible for the country and society. He also emphasized the importance of character development.
Work towards making education modern and practical
He told that Uttarakhand has first implemented the National Education Policy 2020. 141 PM Shri Vidyalayas and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Schools are being constructed in the state.
Virtual classrooms and NCERT books compulsory
50 virtual classrooms have been set up in 13 districts of the state and NCERT books have been made compulsory in all schools. Meritorious students are being given incentives ranging from Rs 600 to Rs 1200 and the facility of touring India.
Special scheme for education of disaster-affected orphans
The state government has also launched an education scheme for children orphaned by disaster, epidemic or accident.
Colleges and sports are being promoted
The Chief Minister said that 20 model colleges and 9 new colleges are being set up in the state, along with construction of women’s hostels, IT labs and examination buildings. Several schemes have been launched to promote sports and the state has secured seventh position in the recently held National Games.
Gift of government job to national level players
The state government has also started an initiative to provide government jobs to players who win medals at the national level. Presence of special guests
