Solar Kauthag organized for the first time in Uttarakhand, inaugurated by CM Dhami

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government is promoting solar energy in the state. In this sequence, Solar Kauthag was organized for the first time in the state under Solar Samriddh Uttarakhand. A solar fair was organized in the two-day Solar Kauthag organized at Rangers Ground in Dehradun. Chief Minister Dhami inaugurated the Solar Kauthag organized for 16 and 17 December on Monday. Also, to make the people of the state aware about solar energy, the Solar Samriddh Uttarakhand van was flagged off.

Stalls of many solar companies have been set up in the solar fair. Where information about solar plants is being given to the public. During the program, a central grant of Rs 51 thousand was given to the beneficiaries under the PM Solar Ghar Yojana. Under the Solar Water Heater Scheme, a state grant of Rs 17 thousand was given to the beneficiaries. Along with this, letters of solar plant allocation were also distributed to the beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Solar Sarojgar Yojana.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Solar Kauthag has been organized under Solar Samriddh Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that solar energy is being encouraged across the country through various schemes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of generating 100 GW of electricity through solar energy by 2030. A target has been set to make the country carbon neutral by 2070. In such a situation, the Uttarakhand government is also continuously encouraging solar energy in the state.

New solar policy implemented in Uttarakhand

A new solar policy has been implemented to set up maximum solar energy projects in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, the Uttarakhand government has set a target of achieving 14 thousand MW solar capacity by 2027. Apart from this, solar plants are being installed on all government buildings in the state. For which a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made in the general budget. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that there are unlimited limits in the field of solar energy in the state. There are unlimited ways to mobilize solar energy. For that, Solar Kauthag will prove to be a milestone.

11 thousand solar plants installed in Uttarakhand

Energy Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that to promote solar energy, various programs are being conducted at the level of the Government of India as well as the state government. So far 28 thousand people have applied in the state. Out of which about 11 thousand solar plants have been installed. Along with this, 37 megawatt electricity has been produced.

He said that under the Solar Policy, a target of 2000 megawatt power production has been set. Therefore, by 2027, 2000 megawatt electricity will be produced in the state through solar. For that, Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam is installing solar plants on its lands. The industry is also being given the facility of net meter.
