Nainital: After Rajasthan, now officers of mountain origin have been appointed as the administrative head of West Bengal. Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, a native of Pithoragarh district, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Bengal.
1991 batch IAS Manoj Pant has been the District Magistrate in many districts including 24 Parganas of Bengal. Pant is also an international level expert in financial matters. IAS Pant has served as ex-officio Principal Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, Finance Department in the Government of India and also in the World Bank.
