Special health camps for the disabled will be held in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami gave these instructions to officials.

Dehradun: The State Disability Advisory Board met at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. During the meeting, Chief Minister Dhami stated that the state government is committed to protecting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. He directed officials to ensure that they receive the full benefits of schemes and programs for their welfare. These benefits should be provided with ease and transparency. Furthermore, he stated that addressing the problems of this segment of society should be a top priority for the government administration.

Special health camps for the disabled will be organized: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed Health Secretary R. Rajesh Kumar to organize special health camps for the disabled from time to time across the state. These camps will provide treatment, medical facilities, certificates, prosthetic limbs, and other assistive devices to the disabled on the spot. He also directed the Social Welfare Secretary to take immediate action on the suggestions received at the meeting.

Disabled persons should receive full benefits of reservation: CM Dhami stated that during the recruitment process for all government services, persons with disabilities should be given full benefits as per the reservation provisions. He also directed that the Social Welfare Department should ensure that all eligible individuals covered by the disability pension or other social security schemes receive 100% of the benefits.

Prioritize schemes related to the interests of the disabled: He further stated that all secretaries are expected to monitor issues related to the disabled at the departmental level with utmost seriousness and prioritize the effective implementation of schemes directly related to their interests. He stated that persons with disabilities are an integral part of society and the government is making every effort to empower them.

Legislators and Board Members Provide Important Suggestions: During the meeting, the MLAs and Board members present also made several important suggestions. CM Dhami pledged to adopt a positive approach to all of these suggestions. He stated that the problems of the disabled are not merely an administrative matter for any government, but also a humanitarian responsibility. The government is continuously working with this spirit.

Money will be given for marrying a disabled person: Meanwhile, under the Social Welfare Department, the incentive amount for marrying a disabled youth or woman has been increased from 25,000 to 50,000 rupees. This was also approved in the cabinet meeting on September 23rd. Additionally, under the Disabled Scholarship Scheme, the income limit for scholarships for disabled students from grades 1 to 8 will be abolished.
