Special Session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly: BJP MLAs list achievements, House adjourned sine die

Dehradun: The special session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly was extended by one day at the demand of the ruling party and the opposition in the Assembly Business Advisory Committee meeting. The state’s 25 years of achievements and its future roadmap were discussed for the third day today. After the discussion, the House was adjourned sine die.

Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Chaudhary said that the special session discussed the state’s achievements and a future roadmap, which will accelerate Uttarakhand’s development in the future.

MLA Trilok Singh Cheema said that today is a day filled with pride and emotion. We are celebrating our silver jubilee. The progress Uttarakhand has made in 25 years is an example for the country. Uttarakhand has reached new heights in the health sector. The health budget has increased by 16% in the last five years. The BJP government has set an example of good governance and progress.

Meanwhile, MLA Shakti Lal Shah said that everyone played a role in building the state. Those who gathered people with drums and cymbals played the most important role. Those who played the drums and damau should also be honored and given pensions. During the 2017 elections, I had to travel to hundreds of villages on foot, but our government built 90% of the roads. We should prepare a roadmap for what Uttarakhand and the mountains need. Officials living in the mountains must be given respect commensurate with the mountain environment. We have to work on health and education in the hills. Our Chief Minister is young, the state is also young.

MLA Munna Singh Chauhan raised the issue of Golden Card in the House. Hospitals have stopped accepting Golden Cards due to non-payment. The government should take cognizance of this matter.

Congress MLA Manoj Tiwari said that education and health are two fundamental issues that still remain. There is talk of the state’s progress. We are exploring future possibilities. There is a plan to close 1488 schools. Schools are being closed in my constituency. Even today, despite spending a lot of money on education, the situation is worrisome. There are no principals in the hill schools. He said that the government should make Almora Medical College a model college.
