Dehradun: Players will be prepared for the 2036 Olympics from the sports infrastructure prepared for the National Games in Uttarakhand. For which the Uttarakhand Sports Department is preparing a legacy plan. Under this, 30 to 40 players will be prepared from Uttarakhand for the 2036 Olympics.
In a meeting held in the auditorium of the Sports Secretariat located at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Sports Minister Rekha Arya took a meeting regarding the legacy plan of the Sports Department. On this occasion, she said that the ward class sports infrastructure development prepared in the state for the recent historic National Games held in Uttarakhand is being seen as the legacy of the state. This should also be proved by its use. She said that the legacy plan of Uttarakhand’s sports infrastructure has to be prepared in such a way that we can start working on the goals of 10 years from now.
Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that our goal is to include 30 to 40 players from Uttarakhand in the 2036 Olympics. Preparations will have to be made for this from now on. Apart from this, he has also instructed the players to prepare to bring Uttarakhand to the top five in the next National Games. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said after the meeting that we are going to create 23 sports academies in the Legacy Plan. Coaches having international level certificates will be appointed in them. Apart from this, there will also be assistant coaches. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that a High Power Sports Authority of Uttarakhand is being formed to oversee and operate all these academies. The head of which will be the Chief Minister. Secretaries of many departments will also be members in it. Along with this, people from the world of higher education will also be included in it. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that the help of Sports Authority of India, an organization that works to find and groom players across the country, is also being taken in this.
