Dehradun: State level inter-departmental coordination committee meeting regarding birth-death registration was held in the Secretariat on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary discussed in detail about the process and problems of birth-death registration.
The Chief Secretary directed that registration of births and deaths should be done compulsorily within the prescribed time limit. He has also directed to digitize the old documents related to birth and death registration. He said that necessary information regarding the Registrar Office should be compulsorily displayed on the information board outside the Registrar Offices.
The Chief Secretary directed that the meeting of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) should be compulsorily organized at least once a year under the chairmanship of District Registrar/District Magistrate at the district level. He also talked about taking necessary action including extensive publicity to stop the work of birth and death registration through fake portals/websites in the state.
Secretary Ravinath Raman, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Director Census Operations Directorate Mrs. Eva Ashish Srivastava, Additional Secretary Mrs. Ranjana Rajguru and other senior officers were present on this occasion.
