Pauri: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the State Revolution Day Fair organized at Peethasain in Thalisain block on the anniversary of the Peshawar incident. On this occasion, remembering the contribution of freedom fighters, he said that due to the sacrifice and sacrifice of the brave soldiers of independence, we are able to breathe freely today. He said that the state government is running many welfare schemes for the families of freedom fighters and brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the defense of the country.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the State Revolution Day Fair organized at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Memorial Site in Peethasain by lighting a lamp. Earlier, he also paid tribute by offering flowers to the statue of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali. On this occasion, two minutes of silence was observed and tribute was paid to the innocent people killed in the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government will definitely take revenge for this brutal act and will give the harshest punishment to the culprits.
Addressing the public, the Chief Minister said that Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali is the pride of Uttarakhand as well as the entire country. The example of humanity and morality he presented by refusing to fire on unarmed people in Peshawar is immortal in history. He said that the state government is making every effort to keep the memory of Veer Garhwali intact and is running programs based on his life to inspire the youth with his ideals.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has made an important contribution in this golden journey of India. Uttarakhand is not only Devbhoomi but also Veerbhoomi, we are proud of our military tradition and patriotic heritage. He said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the families of freedom fighters and brave soldiers deployed on the country’s border. Shaurya Sthal has been built in Dehradun in honor of the martyred soldiers. The state government has increased the ex-gratia amount given to the families of martyred soldiers from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.
The Chief Minister said that one person from the family of martyred soldiers is also being given a government job. The pension of freedom fighters and their widows has been increased from Rs 21,000 to Rs 25,000. The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code Act. He said that strict land laws have been brought in accordance with public sentiment. After the implementation of the anti-copying law, more than 22 thousand appointments have been made in the state in a transparent manner. The Chief Minister said that the number of devotees in the Chardham Yatra is increasing rapidly every year. Continuous work is being done to improve the Chardham Yatra arrangements.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, the great hero of the Peshawar incident, is a symbol of the country’s consciousness, morality and human values. He said that this great hero put his career and life at stake to protect humanity. He appealed to the youth to take inspiration from the life of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali and follow the path of patriotism, honesty and courage. He said that the biography of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali will be included in the school curriculum. He also talked about building a grand auditorium in Thalisain and a playground in Bungidhar. He said that a hostel for 100 poor and orphan children has been built in Peethasain.
