Subodh Kumar Singh, former Director-General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), has been appointed Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Steel.
Mr. Singh, an IAS officer from the 1997 Chhattisgarh cadre, was removed from the NTA in June due to alleged irregularities in the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and the UGC-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Following his exit, he was placed on compulsory wait in the Department of Personnel and Training. His new role in the Steel Ministry was confirmed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet through a Personnel Ministry order.
