Tamil Nadu: Govt Announces Major Administrative Shake-Up, G Lakshmipathy Appoint Joint Secy to the CM

In a series of high-profile administrative changes, Tamil Nadu government has announced new appointments for several key positions within the state’s government.

1991 batch IAS officer N. Muruganandam has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu, succeeding Shiv Das Meena (1989 batch). Mr Muruganandam steps into this crucial role as the head of the state’s civil administration.

While Mr Meena, who previously served as the Chief Secretary, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) as of August 18. His new role at TNRERA will involve overseeing the regulation and development of the real estate sector in Tamil Nadu, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering sector growth.

In another major development, G Lakshmipathy, an IAS officer of 2015 batch and currently serving as the District Collector of Thoothukudi, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister.

In a related shift, IAS K Elambahavath, the Director of Public Libraries, has been transferred to take over as the new District Collector of Thoothukudi, succeeding Mr Lakshmipathy.
