Tehri Lake Area Development Project High Powered Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan

Dehradun: A meeting of the Asian Development Bank assisted Tehri Lake Area Development Project High Powered Committee was held in the Secretariat Auditorium under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan.

In the meeting, the Project Director presented the compliance report of the instructions of the fourth HPC meeting related to the Tehri Lake Area Development Project; along with this, the status report of the 19 sub-projects currently underway was also presented.

The Chief Secretary inquired about the matters related to the ongoing tender process and their current status.

He expressed satisfaction after getting information about the progress of the works of Tehri Lake Area Development Tourism Road, Development of Dobra Chanti Park, Upgradation of Tiwad Village, Solid Waste Management etc. and directed to complete the works expeditiously.

The Chief Secretary directed all the officers to prepare the DPR only after doing a complete ground survey of any project in future so that all the aspects of the project are included and there is no possibility of increase in the cost of the project later.

He directed that except for big and major works, consultancy services should be avoided for small works. While preparing the DPR of the project/sub-project, it should also be kept in mind that after the completion of the work, it should be operated regularly and in a better manner.

The Chief Secretary also directed to submit the details of the works done from time to time by various agencies related to the development of Tehri area.

The Chief Secretary directed the Secretary Tourism to prepare a detailed action plan to make Tehri Lake and its surrounding area a world-class tourist hub destination and present it in the next meeting.

During this meeting, Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve, Secretary V Shanmugam, Project Director/Additional Secretary Abhishek Rohela, Finance Director Jagat Singh Chauhan, Assistant Project Director Rajesh Pant, Civil Engineer Building and Infrastructure Kapil Kumar and other concerned officials were present.
