The Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is nearing its conclusion; the closing dates for all the shrines have been announced. The doors of Badrinath Dham will close for the winter season on November 25

Dehradun/Badrinath: The second phase of the Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra is underway. The second phase, which began on September 15 and continues until November, has now begun to announce the closing dates for the four shrines. After Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath, the date for the closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham has also been announced. The doors of the shrine will close on November 25th.

Today, October 2nd, on the occasion of Dussehra, the date for the closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham was announced. The doors of Badrinath Dham will close on Tuesday, November 25th, at 2:56 pm, during the auspicious time. Furthermore, the doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham will close on Bhaiya Dooj on October 23rd, according to the auspicious time. On Vijayadashami, the closing date for the winter seat sites was announced according to the calendar calculations.

The doors of Yamunotri Dham will close for the winter season on October 23rd at 12:30 pm. The doors of Gangotri Dham will be closed for the six-month winter season on October 22nd, during the Annakut festival, at 11:36 am, during the Abhijit Muhurta. The doors of the second Kedarnath, Madmaheshwar Dham, will close for the winter season on November 18th at Brahma Muhurta, and the doors of the third Kedarnath, Tungnath Dham, will close for the winter season on November 6th.

Winter stay of the four Dhams: After the doors of Badrinath Dham close for the winter season, Badrinath is worshipped in Pandukeshwar and Joshimath in Chamoli. Baba Kedar resides in Ukhimath in Rudraprayag during the winter season. Mother Ganga is worshipped in her winter residence, Mukhba village, and Mother Yamuna is worshipped in her winter residence, Kharsali village.

It should be noted that the Chardham Yatra 2025 began with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams on April 30th. Following this, the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened on May 2nd. The doors of Badrinath Dham were opened for devotees on May 4th.

Number of devotees at Gangotri Dham: Since the doors of Gangotri Dham opened on April 30, 2025, as of 7 p.m. on October 1, 750,492 devotees have visited Mother Ganga.

Number of devotees at Yamunotri Dham: The doors of Yamunotri Dham also opened on April 30. As of 7 p.m. on October 1, 640,434 devotees have visited Mother Yamuna.

Number of devotees at Kedarnath Dham: The doors of Kedarnath Dham opened for devotees on May 2. Kedarnath Dham has seen the highest number of devotees so far. As of 7 p.m. on October 1, 162,420 devotees have visited Baba Kedarnath.

Number of devotees at Badrinath Dham: The doors of Badrivishal Dham were opened for devotees on May 4. As of 7 pm on October 1st, 1.415 million devotees have visited Badrinath Dham. Meanwhile, 267,664 devotees have visited Hemkund Sahib. So far, 4.64 million devotees have visited the four holy shrines and Hemkund Sahib.
