Chamoli: Today is the third day of the Panch Puja (five pujas) for the closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham. After the Veda-Upanishad worship in the sanctum sanctorum of the Badrinath Temple, the recitation of Vedic hymns will end late in the evening. On Sunday, the third day of the Panch Puja, in the morning, in the presence of Chief Priest Bande Rawal Amarnath Namboodri and BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal and Vedapathi Ravindra Bhatt handed over the sacred Veda Upanishads to the Rawal for worship in the sanctum sanctorum of the Shri Badrinath Temple.
Late in the evening, these religious books will be handed over to the Dharmadhikaris and Veda Patis from the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Finally, the Dharmadhikari will close the Veda verses and books. With this, the recitation of Veda verses will also cease at Badrinath Dham from Sunday evening. While the daily pujas and Abhishek Puja programs will continue.
The doors of Badrinath Dham will close on November 25th.

Prior to this, the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) is observing all Vedic rituals, including the Panch Puja ritual.
On Sunday, November 23rd, the third day of the closing ceremony, the recitation of Vedic hymns will cease for the winter season in the city of salvation, Shri Badrinath Dham. The echo of Vedic hymns will cease during the winter season in the caves of Badri Puri, including the Nar Narayan and Gandhamadana mountains. After special prayers today, the Veda Upanishads will be formally closed late in the evening.
Over 1.6 million devotees have visited Lord Badri Vishal so far.
It is worth noting that from the opening of the doors until November 22nd, 2025, 16,42,510 devotees have visited Lord Badri Vishal. This includes 9,05,522 men, 6,10,604 women, and 1,26,384 children.
