Dehradun: Uttarakhand Housing Development Council is working on 15 housing projects to provide shelter to the weaker sections of the state. It is expected that by March 2025, 16 thousand houses will be built and ready in the state. Uttarakhand Housing Development Council is preparing 15 projects with private investors. Through which a total of 12,856 houses are being built.
Along with this, a total of 3104 houses are being prepared by the five related development authorities. According to Additional Commissioner Housing PC Dumka, so far 1760 houses have been built with private participation and handed over to the beneficiaries. 14,635 houses have also been allotted. In such a situation, a target has been set to complete the ongoing projects by March 2025.
Under this scheme, a private investor builds a house equipped with facilities like two rooms, kitchen and toilet at a cost of Rs 6 lakh, out of which they get Rs 3.5 lakh from various schemes of the central and state government. In this way, the beneficiary gets a house through easy home loan at a cost of just Rs 2.5 lakh. In this, all the expenses of construction including land are borne by the private investor. Under the scheme, homeless families with an annual income of less than Rs 3 lakh are eligible. Also, it is also necessary for the eligible family to be a resident of Uttarakhand before June 15, 2015. Under the scheme, projects with 224 flats in Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) Transport Nagar and 240 flats in Tarla Amwala have been completed, while 240 flats in Dhaulas will be ready by March 2025. According to MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari, the beneficiaries for the project have been selected with transparency. The keys of the flat will be handed over to everyone within the stipulated time. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the central government has implemented the PM Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, permanent houses are being built and provided to homeless families. Housing Development Authority in Uttarakhand has played an important role in achieving this goal.
