Dehradun: To update the infrastructure for the adaptation of electric vehicles, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has instructed to set up EV charging stations in shopping malls as well. The Chief Secretary has instructed all departments to strictly follow the scrap policy regarding vehicles. The CS has instructed to develop green belts between cities and plant bamboo plants on priority in place of other plants in the empty spaces between roads and traffic corridors. Along with this, he has instructed to prepare a Clean Air Action Plan to prevent pollution in Dehradun, Rishikesh and Kashipur identified under the National Clean Air Program. The CS has instructed the Urban Development Department to work strictly and actively through the task force formed at the Municipal Corporation level to seriously track the activities of burning garbage. He also directed for complete prevention of littering activities through active participation of Mahila Mangal Dals. Taking strict action on door to door collection of garbage, Chief Secretary Raturi has given strict instructions to maintain 100 percent door to door collection and to make arrangements for door to door collection in slums as well.
Chairing the fourth State Level Steering Committee meeting of National Clean Air Program (NCAP) in the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given instructions to install Integrated Traffic Management System at main junctions and to improve roads for dust control. The Chief Secretary said that to achieve the target of reducing the amount of pollutants by 40 percent by the year 2025-26, the concerned departments will have to seriously work on a concrete action plan.
Additional Secretary of Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board and concerned departments, Municipal Commissioner Dehradun and other officers were present in the meeting.
