Haridwar: The Kanwar fair in Uttarakhand is now in its final phase. Only three days are left for the Kanwar fair to conclude. On 23 July, Shivaratri, all the Kanwariyas will reach their respective destinations and offer water to the Shivalayas. But these last days can be quite challenging for the police. However, the Haridwar police administration is talking about its full preparation.
In the last days of the Kanwar fair, the influx of Dak Kanwar is more than other Kanwars. Due to which the most important challenge for the police is the traffic system. Giving information on this, Haridwar SP Traffic Jitendra Mehra said that a traffic plan has been prepared for Dak Kanwar. Many parking lots have also been kept as backup. Complete arrangements for heavy vehicles have been made in the fair area, due to which all the arrangements are running smoothly till now.
Parking is being monitored by drone CCTV: SP Traffic said that Kanwariyas are coming to Haridwar Har Ki Pauri only after parking their vehicles in the parking lot outside the main city. Special attention is being paid to the safety of Kanwariyas. No negligence is being done in the security system. The entire fair area is being monitored by CCTV and drones.
Challenges during Kanwar Yatra in the last days: SP Traffic Haridwar Jitendra Mehra said that the challenges of the police in the last days are to control the crowd, not to let the situation of communal tension arise, control the height of the Kanwar, deal with road accidents and local incidents, Kanwar Yatra going through mixed population area, vehicles being parked at limited parking space, preventing disputes between Kanwariyas and local people, controlling noise pollution caused by bikes in Dak Kanwar and operating the traffic system smoothly.
Now the challenge will begin: The government believes that this time more than five crore Shiva devotees are expected to come to the Kanwar fair. According to the information given by the Haridwar district administration, from July 10 to July 19, more than 2.5 crore Kanwariyas have left for their destination from Haridwar with Ganga water. It can be estimated from this that in the next 3 days, more than 3 crore Kanwariyas will reach Haridwar. In such a situation, the challenge of the police will increase further.
Appeal of Haridwar Police to Shiv Bhakts: Haridwar SP Traffic Jitendra Mehra has also appealed to the Kanwariyas to cooperate with the police and not create any kind of ruckus. If any person creates a ruckus in the guise of Kanwariyas, action will be taken against him.
Let us tell you that with the start of Kanwar Yatra, the challenges of the police are also increasing. The biggest tension of the police is to stop the Kanwariyas from creating a ruckus.
