The number of pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand reached 32 lakh, Dhami’s efforts were successful, devotees are reaching other religious places apart from 4 Dhams, locals are getting employment

Dehradun: This time around 32 lakh pilgrims have reached the Chardham Yatra so far. The good thing is that pilgrims are now reaching other temples / pilgrimage sites along with the Chardhams. Due to which, like the Chardham Yatra route, economic activities are also increasing at other places.

Every year, lakhs of devotees visit the four Dhams located in Uttarakhand during the Yatra period. In this Yatra season itself, the total number of registrations for Chardham and Hemkund has exceeded 44 lakh. In this, 713456 registrations have been done for Yamunotri Dham, 780554 for Gangotri, 1443513 for Kedarnath, 1336923 for Badrinath and 169180 for Hemkund, out of which about 32 lakh pilgrims have completed the journey so far. Its positive economic impact is visible on the Chardham Yatra route. In this sequence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been constantly emphasizing on the promotion of other pilgrimage sites and Dhams, so that the economic activities can also be accelerated in these areas due to the arrival of pilgrims. Its positive effect is visible in the form of increasing number of pilgrims visiting Kartikeya Swami Temple in Rudraprayag, Jagannath Temple in Uttarkashi as well as other temples. According to the data, about four lakh pilgrims had reached Kartikeya Swami Temple last year, whereas this time this number has crossed 10 lakh by mid-June. So far this year, 25 thousand pilgrims have reached the Jagannath temple located in Uttarkashi. Due to which now all kinds of activities including hotels, restaurants, transport, prasad are increasing at other places like the Chardham Yatra route. Which is supporting the livelihood of the local people.

For the overall development of Uttarakhand, it is necessary to intensify pilgrimage and tourism activities in all areas. Uttarakhand is Devbhoomi, every temple has its own importance here. The government is trying to develop basic facilities at all pilgrimage sites.
