Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak scandal has severely damaged the state’s reputation and the future of its youth. To prevent further fraud among thousands of young people dreaming of government jobs, the Chief Minister has recommended a CBI investigation. This scandal not only exposed the system’s flaws but also raised serious questions about the commission’s functioning. Now, with the exams now underway, the UKSSSC has adopted a strict stance, implementing new rules and stringent measures to prevent any candidate or mafia from tampering in the future.
Background of the Paper Leak Case: Following the recent paper leak scandal in Uttarakhand, unemployed people protested against the government, prompting the government to recommend a CBI investigation. Several individuals have been prosecuted in this case, which requires the Commission to address the questions raised by candidates and ensure that there are no further controversies in upcoming exams. Therefore, students must be mindful of certain precautions on exam day. To prevent recurrence of paper leaks, the Commission has implemented several new and stringent measures to prevent recurrence of paper leaks.
Biometric and Physical Checking: Biometric verification will be mandatory for every candidate. Candidates will be verified through fingerprint and photo scans upon arrival at the examination center. A thorough search will be conducted before entry. Candidates will be required to remove their shoes and undergo the security check.
Examination Center Sanitization and Security: Each examination center will be thoroughly sanitized and inspected a day before the exam. Additional security forces will be deployed. District Magistrates and senior police officers will personally oversee this process.
Use of Mobile Jammers: To prevent question paper copying or leaks, jammers that block mobile networks will be installed at examination centers. This will make it impossible to communicate with others via the internet or calls.
Strict Vigilance: From the start of the exam until its completion, strict security will be maintained at every examination center. Guards and police personnel will monitor candidates. Entry of any outsider without permission will be prohibited.
Early Arrival Mandatory: Candidates must arrive at the examination center at least two hours before the start of the exam. Candidates arriving late will not be allowed entry under any circumstances.
Commission Secretary G.S. Martolia stated that the district administration, police, and commission teams have worked together to conduct the examination with complete transparency and fairness. Any candidate or outsider who attempts to violate the rules will face immediate legal action.
