Dehradun: The year 2024-25 has been very special in Uttarakhand regarding the promotion of PCS officers. On the other hand, this month also another PCS officer is going to get the benefit of double promotion. However, due to mutual tussle, the promotions of PCS officers have often been seen to be in trouble. Not only this, the mutual dispute of the officers has also acted as a hindrance in getting IAS cadre. On the other hand, due to the matter reaching the court, the Personnel Department has also been seen distancing itself from it.
Senior PCS officer Sreesh Kumar in Uttarakhand is going to get the benefit of double promotion. However, a DPC meeting was called in the government two days ago regarding his promotion, but, due to non-completion of paper formalities, his promotion could not be given the green signal. Sreesh Kumar is going to retire next month. Earlier, he could not get promotion due to the investigation case. Now soon a new date is to be fixed for DPC. After which they will be able to get promotion on 10 thousand grade pay.
The biggest problem regarding promotion for the PCS cadre in Uttarakhand has also been their mutual dispute which has reached the court. This is the reason that the Uttarakhand government has also not been able to decide the final seniority list of PCS officers till now. At present, this matter related to the seniority of the officers is pending in the Supreme Court. There is little hope of resolving it soon. On the other hand, the Personnel Department is also not able to take any decision due to the matter being in the Supreme Court. The direct loss of this is to the PCS officers only.
