Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set a target of making the turnover of the state’s umbrella brand ‘House of Himalayas’ Rs 100 crore by the year 2030 and has also directed to ensure marketing of its products through Unity Mall. The Chief Minister, while giving instructions to develop one smart village in each development block, said that by providing basic facilities in these villages, work should be done towards connecting all the families with employment.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday reviewed in detail the progress of the game changer schemes – Chief Minister Udyamshala Yojana, Growth Center Yojana, House of Himalayas and Center of Excellence Yojana operated under the Rural Development Department at the Secretariat. While giving instructions to make special efforts to promote rural entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said that along with increasing the livelihood resources in rural areas, it is necessary to give every possible encouragement to the people doing reverse migration. He said that for better implementation of schemes, the ‘door step delivery system’ should be strengthened.
The Chief Minister said that in order to provide market to the products of the state at national and international level, a concrete strategy should be made for marketing of the products of umbrella brand ‘House of Himalayas’. Special attention should also be paid to the quality of its products. The Chief Minister said that concrete efforts should be made to improve the products of Growth Centers by adopting a business approach. So that the livelihood of local people can be increased. Work should also be done to connect Growth Centers with skill development.
The Chief Minister also directed to make appropriate arrangements to ensure training, financial assistance and access to the market along with providing necessary skills, resources and support under the Center of Excellence Scheme to promote women entrepreneurship in rural areas.
In the meeting, Secretary Rural Development Radhika Jha gave a presentation of the Game Changer schemes of the Rural Development Department. She informed that so far one lakh sixty five thousand women have been made Lakhpati Didi in the state. The target is to make one lakh more women Lakhpati Didi in the next three years. Under the Chief Minister Udyamshala Yojana, assistance will be provided to fifteen thousand rural enterprises in three years. Work is being done in a phased manner to add more than 150 products of the state under the House of Himalayas.
On this occasion, Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi, Vice President of Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Sridhar Babu Adanki, Additional Secretary Ms. Jharna Kamthan, Additional Secretary Ms. Anuradha Pal, CPPGG Additional Chief Executive Officer Manoj Pant and related officers were present.
