Two couples in Uttarakhand sought permission to live in a live-in relationship, applied on UCC portal –

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has recognized adult boys and girls to live in a live-in relationship, but for this they will have to register themselves on the Uniform Civil Code portal. Two applications have come on the UCC portal for living in a live-in relationship. The police is investigating both the applications.

Actually, both the couples had applied for registration on the UCC portal to live in a live-in relationship. The investigation of the applications has been completed at the registrar level. After the registrar, now the Doon police is investigating both the applications. After the documents attached in the application forms are found to be correct, both the couples will be allowed to live in a live-in relationship. Also, both the couples will be given a receipt related to living in a live-in relationship, on the basis of which they will be able to easily rent a room or house.

After the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand, registration has become mandatory for living in a live-in-relationship. If a couple lives in a live-in-relationship without registration, action will be taken against them. In which 6 months jail or a fine of 25 thousand can be imposed. Apart from this, there is also a provision of both jail and fine together.

A provision has been made in the Uniform Civil Code Rules that people already living in a live-in-relationship will have to get registered within one month from the date of implementation of UCC. After the implementation of UCC, if a couple comes into a live-in-relationship, then they will have to get registered within one month from the date of live-in. Registration can be done both online and offline.

The special thing is that the Registrar will also inform the parents or guardians of the couple who are in a live-in-relationship. The Uniform Civil Code rules not only have a provision for registration for living in a live-in relationship, but also a system for giving information about ending the live-in relationship.

Application for ending a live-in relationship can be made either online or offline. If an application for ending the relationship is made by one partner in a live-in couple, then the registrar will confirm it from the other partner. Only after that the live-in relationship will be terminated.

If a woman becomes pregnant during a live-in relationship, it is mandatory to inform the registrar about it. Also, after the birth of the child, its information will also have to be updated within 30 days. Children born during a live-in relationship will be considered the children of the same couple, this child will have the same rights as a biological child.
