UCC Completes One Year: Under CM Dhami’s Leadership, Uttarakhand Becomes an Example of Digital Governance with 22 Languages and AI

Dehradun: The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) implemented in Uttarakhand has completed one year, and during this period, this system has emerged as a successful example of technological excellence. All services of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code are now available in all 22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, in addition to English. Along with this, applicants can understand the entire UCC process with the help of AI and also register themselves.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given clear instructions to the officials even before implementing the UCC that the registration process should be made as simple as possible and the website should be completely user-friendly, so that common citizens can apply themselves without any assistance.

In accordance with CM Dhami’s instructions, ITDA has developed the official UCC website in English along with the 22 scheduled languages included in the Eighth Schedule: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Sindhi, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Santali and Manipuri.

Through this multilingual system, applicants can obtain information about the rules, procedures and required documents related to UCC in their preferred language, and can also apply in the same language. The AI-based assistance system is providing real-time guidance to the applicants, making the registration process even easier.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Our government has been working on the principle of ‘simplification for solutions’ since day one. In the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, it has been ensured that the general public does not face any difficulties. UCC has today become a successful model of technological excellence. This is the reason why not a single complaint has been received regarding the UCC process in the last one year.”
