Union Minister of State Raj Bhushan Chaudhary meets CM Dhami; discussions held on water supply schemes run by the central and state governments

Dehradun: Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Dr. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. During the meeting, important issues related to water resource management, drinking water schemes, irrigation, clean water availability, and water conservation according to the geographical conditions of Uttarakhand were discussed between the state and the central government.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized the mountainous geographical structure of Uttarakhand, the sensitivity of water sources, and the need for sustainable water management in the state. CM Dhami said that Uttarakhand is not only the source of major rivers of the country, but the state government is also working to provide clean drinking water to every household in the state by better implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission and other central schemes.

During the discussion, CM Dhami informed the Union Minister of State that the state government, with the cooperation of the central government, is prioritizing water supply, water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and irrigation projects. Special emphasis is being laid on the rejuvenation of water sources and the conservation of traditional water structures in the hilly areas, so that water security can be ensured for future generations.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State Dr. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary appreciated the better and effective implementation of various schemes of the Ministry of Jal Shakti in Uttarakhand. He also said that the central government is providing all possible support to Uttarakhand, keeping in mind the special needs of this Himalayan state. The Union Minister of State also praised the state government’s efforts in schemes related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, Namami Gange, water conservation, and sanitation.

During the discussion, the Chief Minister and the Union Minister also deliberated on future water projects in the state, strengthening center-state coordination, and the sustainable use of water resources. After this meeting, Chief Minister Dhami expressed confidence that with the support of the central government, Uttarakhand will emerge as a model state in the field of water management.
