Dehradun: Now tourists coming to Uttarakhand from the country and abroad will be able to get the products of House of Himalayas based on the local products of Uttarakhand at the airport itself. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the “House of Himalayas” store at Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun on Tuesday. The opening of this store will give a new identity to the local products of the state and the sale of local products will also strengthen the economy of the state.

Congratulating the state government for this commendable effort, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that due to the tireless efforts of the Uttarakhand government, opening of House of Himalayas stores in various airports will give a boost to this umbrella brand of Uttarakhand. He said that the quality, packaging and branding of these products is also the best. The country along with Uttarakhand will also get the benefit of the products of House of Himalayas. He said that for the promotion and other works of House of Himalayas, the Government of India will set up a Center of Excellence in Uttarakhand. On one hand, while quality products will be available to the common people, on the other hand, farmers will also benefit from it.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the opening of the House of Himalayas store will give a new identity to the products of the state. He said that this store is also a symbol of the hard work and skill of the farmers, artisans, women and small entrepreneurs of the state. Local products are also a part of the culture, tradition and identity of the state. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the House of Himalayas. To realize the spirit of self-reliant Uttarakhand, the state government is giving priority to local products. This is promoting local employment and also strengthening the economy.

On this occasion, former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Secretary Mrs. Radhika Jha, Additional Secretary Mrs. Anuradha Pal, Additional Secretary Manuj Goyal, Additional Commissioner Rural Development Rajendra Singh Rawat, Chief Engineer V.V.S Rawat, Superintending Engineer Anil Kumar and others were present.
