Union: Two IRS (IT) Officers Appointed As Pvt Secys To Two Union Ministers

The government of India has mandated two eminent IRS (Income Tax) officers to take charge as Private Secretaries to two Union Ministers.

  • Mr. Pavitra Kumar (2013 batch IRS officer) has been appointed Private Secretary to the Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar, for five years. Officer Kumar will assume the charge of the post at the Deputy Secretary level with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever ends earlier.
  • Mr. Parth Gautam (2014 batch IRS officer) has been appointed Private Secretary to the Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, Mr. Sukanta Majumdar, under the Ministry of Education. Officer Gautam’s tenure will last until July 29th, 2028 (for the maximum admissible tenure of 7 years away from cadre) or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
