Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a significant change in the Police Administration by entrusting the additional charge of the State’s Law & Order Department to STF ADGP Amitabh Yash (IPS:1996:UP). The Law & Order Department holds paramount importance for the current government, which takes pride in its commitment to upholding the rule of law. Formerly, Acting DGP Prashant Kumar (IPS:1990: UP) was at the helm of the Law & Order Department. However, following the retirement of Acting DGP Vijay Kumar (IPS: 1988: UP) on January 31, Prashant Kumar assumed the position of State’s DGP. The decision by CM Yogi Adityanath to assign the additional charge of this vital department to one of his most trusted lieutenants, ADGP Amitabh Yash, underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening law and order in the state.
