Dehradun: At a ceremony held to mark the birth anniversary of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹8260.72 crore.

Irrigation Department – Song Dam Drinking Water Project – ₹2491.96 crore
The Song Dam Drinking Water Project, proposed in Dehradun and Tehri districts, will supply 150 MLD of drinking water to Dehradun district. A 130-meter-high dam will be constructed under the project, improving the water supply to Dehradun city.
Jamrani Dam Drinking Water Project – ₹584.10 crore
The proposed Jamrani Dam Project in Nainital district is a multipurpose project. It will meet drinking water and irrigation needs, as well as generate electricity. The project will irrigate 57,065 hectares and generate 14 megawatts of electricity.
