Dehradun: The government is concerned about the recent increase in criminal cases in Uttarakhand. Therefore, CM Dhami has ordered the police officers of all the districts of the state to run a verification drive. Under which verification of people working in shops located in the markets, street vendors and garbage pickers etc. is being done. If verification is not done, verification is being done by taking them to police stations and outposts. Meanwhile, now the Uttarakhand Director General of Police has warned of ‘bullets’ to those who disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the state.
DGP Abhinav Kumar says, ‘For the last 2-3 weeks, some concern and some reaction was expressed from many places by the media and all the civil societies regarding the situation of crime and law and order. Since the Chief Minister is also our Home Minister, he expressed concern directly to me on this matter and he also gave a little response in this regard. With the approval of the Chief Minister, some extensive changes were made in the police department, some changes were made at the headquarters level. We also transferred SPs of many districts and after that, our new team was formed in the police department, changes have been made in the intelligence in the lower branch at the headquarters level.’
Warning to criminals
On the other hand, on the robbery incident in Haridwar, the DGP said, our traders were very angry with the Haridwar incident, there was a lot of tension. That’s why we are continuously working hard on that too. I have said the same thing that if any such daring incident happens, then Uttarakhand Police will prove to be a nightmare for the criminals found in such incidents. Now there is no scope for the police to work with friendly behavior. If someone dares to do something like this, they will be answered with bullets.
