Uttarakhand: Case of assault on IAS filed against President of Unemployed Association

Dehradun: A case of indecency and assault on senior IAS officer and Energy Secretary of Uttarakhand Secretariat, Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram has come to light. In this case, allegations have been leveled against President of Unemployed Association, Bobby Panwar and his two companions. It is being told that Bobby Panwar reached the office of Energy Secretary located in Vishwakarma Bhawan of the Secretariat on Wednesday with his two companions. The complaint alleges that they misbehaved with the Secretary and assaulted him, and also threatened to kill him.

After the incident, the secretary called his senior private secretary Kapil Kumar and additional private secretary Anup Dangwal and instructed them to send Bobby Panwar and his associates out. During this, the accused allegedly pushed and threatened to deal with him outside the secretariat.

Regarding this incident, senior private secretary Kapil Kumar lodged a complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police and requested to register a case in the matter.

According to the information released from the SSP Dehradun office, Kapil Kumar, Senior Private Secretary, Uttarakhand Government has given a written complaint in Kotwali Nagar that in the office room of Vishwakarma Bhawan, a person named Bobby Panwar, along with his two other associates, misbehaved with the secretary and his staff and threatened to kill them and also obstructed government work. On the basis of the written complaint, a case of assault on a government employee has been registered in Kotwali Nagar police station under crime number 475/24 section 115(2), 352, 351(3), 121(1), 132, 221.

Who is Bobby Panwar

26-year-old Bobby Panwar, president of the Unemployed Union, made headlines in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections when he secured third place in the Tehri parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.

Bobby Panwar had earlier gone to jail in 2022 after the uproar over the UKSSC paper recruitment leak. Bobby, who was protesting against the recruitment scam, had accused the police of misbehaving and assaulting him. In June, a case was registered against him for assault in a coaching center.

Bobby Panwar’s reaction did not come forward

In a statement issued by the Unemployed Association, it has been said that, when an attempt was made to talk to IAS R Meenakshi Sundaram, a senior officer of the concerned department, who played an important role in giving service extension to corrupt officer UPCL MD Anil Kumar Yadav, who had earned more than 200 crores of property through corruption, about the action taken on the corruption complaint earlier and the service extension case of corrupt officer Anil Kumar Yadav in the Secretariat today, R Meenakshi Sundaram asked Bobby Panwar not to talk about the said case of corruption and asked his two other officers Kapil Kumar, Senior Private Secretary and Anoop Dangwal, Additional Private Secretary to throw Bobby Panwar out and provoked Bobby Panwar, due to which a minor altercation took place. Uttarakhand Unemployed Association spokesperson Suresh Singh said that some corrupt officials of the state have considered this state as their fiefdom and when they are asked to answer questions related to corruption and illegal activities, they start misbehaving like this. These are the same corrupt officials who are constantly engaged in promoting corruption in the state and are engaged in destroying the state like termites. After all, till when will the state keep burning in the fire of corruption?
