Uttarakhand: Chief Minister inaugurated the irrigation scheme in Kaluwala, farmers got a big gift in the Jal Utsav program

Doiwala: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the irrigation scheme in Kaluwala in the Jal Utsav program under Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan – 2024. Earlier, he bowed his head at the famous Siddha Peeth Kalu Siddha Temple.

In this irrigation scheme completed in Kaluwala, the construction of the head of Kaluwala-Jolly Grant irrigation canal on the Song river and the repair work of the canal has been done at a cost of about Rs 3.80 crore. After the construction of this head, about 1800 bighas of agricultural land of various villages will be able to get enough water for irrigation for 12 months.

Earlier, due to the absence of a permanent head, temporary arrangements had to be made here every year. Which used to get washed away in the strong flow of the river during the rainy season. Due to which the bed of the river used to be lower than the canal during the rainy season, due to which water hardly reached the fields in summer.

But now after a permanent solution is found, hundreds of farmers will get direct benefit from this and their crops will get sufficient water from the Song River for irrigation of their fields. The Chief Minister has given a gift to the farmers by inaugurating this scheme.
