Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi again gets 6 months extension, DoPT gives second chance

Dehradun: Uttarakhand government has taken a big decision. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has been given 6 months extension. According to the letter issued by the Uttarakhand government, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has been given 6 months extension from October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

Let us tell you that Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has been given a second extension of 6 months each within a year. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi’s first extension is ending on September 30, but even before that the Uttarakhand government has given Chief Secretary Radha Raturi another 6 months extension. It is worth noting that Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi was to retire on 31 March 2024 this year, but the Dhami government extended her tenure till 30 September 2024 by giving an extension of 6 months to Chief Secretary Radha Raturi. However, now again the government has decided to extend her service by 6 months. After this order, IAS officer Radha Raturi will remain in the post of Chief Secretary till 31 March 2025. Radha Raturi is a 1988 batch IAS officer, who has held many important posts in the government including District Magistrate in many districts of the state.

Many social organizations are also expressing happiness over the extension of service to a woman officer as the head of the bureaucracy in the state. However, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan was also in the race for the Chief Secretary and his name was also being discussed continuously. In such a situation, after getting the extension of service for the next 6 months, all these discussions have been put to an end for the time being.
